As journalists, we often write about other people's stories, but today I want to share my own. This is not just a review – it's a story about how a forced acquaintance with my body became the best decision I've made recently.
As a co-author of ekobalsas.lt, I have always been interested in sustainability and healthy living, but, I confess, I often put my own health on the back burner. Until one day my body simply said "stop."
Forced interest in my own body
Until then, I was one of those people who thought about nutrition "someday." Work, pace, constant rush – everything was more important than regular eating habits or a balanced diet.
Everything changed quite suddenly and painfully. Severe lower abdominal pain forced me to seek medical attention, and soon I ended up in the hospital. The diagnosis – diverticulitis. This was the moment I realized: I can no longer ignore the signals my body is sending.
The doctors' recommendations were clear – more fiber in my daily diet. Sounds simple, but in reality, it wasn't as easy as it seems.
The search for fiber: what really works?
When doctors recommended increasing fiber intake, it initially seemed simple – go to the store, buy it, and consume it. But I quickly realized that "fiber" is not one specific thing. It's a broad category with very different effects on the body.
Delving deeper, I discovered that fiber is essentially divided into two main types: soluble and insoluble. Soluble fiber absorbs water and forms a gel consistency, which helps regulate digestion and can even lower cholesterol levels. Insoluble fiber works differently: it "adds bulk" and helps the intestines move faster.
Theoretically, it sounds simple, but in practice, every body reacts differently.
I tried several options, but not all of them worked. Some tasted unpleasant, others were difficult to dissolve, and some even caused more bloating. This was quite unexpected, as I expected the opposite effect – relief, not additional discomfort.
Then I realized that the most important thing is not just to consume fiber, but to find fiber that the body accepts easily. I started paying more attention to the ingredients, but even more importantly – to how I felt. I observed how I felt after consumption, whether there was any heaviness, or whether digestion was actually improving.
The biggest change happened when I found a product that was practical for me. It easily integrated into my daily life because it was simple to use, tasted pleasant, and caused no additional discomfort. This allowed me to maintain regularity, which became the essential factor.
Finally, I realized that the most important thing is not to look for the "best" fiber in general. The most important thing is to find fiber that you can consume daily without effort. Because only then do you get a result that you truly feel.
Ultimately, I decided to try "Fruttberry +fiber". The choice was not impulsive – I paid attention to the composition, convenient use, and the fact that the product is easily integrated into my daily routine.
Why "Fruttberry" specifically?
When looking for a product, I had high requirements: it had to be natural, easy to use, and most importantly, effective.
Here's what won me over after the first few days:
• Taste and texture: This was not "sand" in a glass. The fiber dissolves perfectly, and the taste is so good that you want to drink it not "because you have to," but "because it's delicious."
• Ease of use: I created a morning ritual for myself – every morning I blend a green smoothie and add a portion of "Fruttberry" to it. It has become my energy boost.
Changes after two weeks: results I didn't expect
As I write this text, I have been using this product for a couple of weeks. And although I am skeptical of quick miracles, the changes are obvious. For the first few days, I used it carefully – one heaped teaspoon mixed with my morning smoothie. The taste? Wonderful. A light, natural berry aroma, no "powdery" taste often found in other fiber mixes. It simply disappears in the smoothie, leaving no lumps.
After the first week, I noticed the first changes. My stomach stopped "bloating" like a balloon after lunch. That unpleasant heaviness, which I felt almost daily, was as if someone had turned it off. Bowel movements became easier, more regular, and, most importantly, without pain. My intestines started working like clockwork – no drama, no sudden spasms.
After two weeks, the changes became even more apparent. Bloating significantly decreased – I could wear tighter clothes and not feel discomfort. My weight dropped by two kilograms, although I didn't drastically change my eating habits or overdo exercise. Glucomannan, which is one of the main ingredients, is known for its feeling of satiety – and I felt it. In the evening, that feeling of "I want to snack on something else" no longer bothered me.
Now it's my morning ritual. Every morning I add a teaspoon of Fruttberry +fiber to my blender, mix it with a banana, spinach, berries, and plant-based milk. Not just for health, but for pleasure. Those five minutes in the morning become a kind of meditation – self-care without coercion.
My observation: Those lost 2 kilograms were not my goal, but they are a pleasant side effect. When the intestines cleanse and start working efficiently, the body itself begins to get rid of what it doesn't need.
When self-care becomes a habit
For a long time, self-care was episodic for me – appearing when something was already wrong. Pain, discomfort, or fatigue would become a signal to "change something," but only for a short time. When I felt better, old habits also returned.
After the experience with diverticulitis, this attitude fundamentally changed. I realized that health is not a project with a beginning and an end – it's a process that happens every day, regardless of whether you think about it.
Consuming fiber became one of the first real steps towards that consistency. Not because "I have to," but because I started to feel a clear difference between how I felt when consuming it and when not. My body quickly learned to "remind" me what was good for it.
Most importantly, this change did not require radical decisions. I didn't change my entire diet overnight, I didn't start following strict regimes or giving up my favorite products. There was just one stable, daily repeated action – a morning smoothie with fiber.
This is where the essence of habit lies: when an action becomes automatic, it no longer requires effort or discipline. It becomes part of your routine, like brushing your teeth or morning coffee.
Another important aspect is awareness. Once I started taking care of my digestion, I naturally began to pay more attention to other things: what I eat, how I feel after certain foods, how much I move, how much I rest. One small change set off a whole chain.
And perhaps this is the greatest value of this experience – not just improved well-being, but also a changed relationship with my body. From "reactive" it became "preventive."
Today, self-care no longer seems like an additional task on my agenda. It has become a natural part of life. And it is precisely when you no longer have to force yourself – that a real, long-term result appears.
